Credits, deductive changes, remobilization, inefficiency, acceleration, or schedule impacts are included only when clearly documented and specifically authorized.

What You Must Provide

Please provide:

• Original drawings and specifications

• Revised drawings or written change instructions

• All relevant addenda, RFIs, and responses

• Original estimate information, when available

• A clear description of what changed

• Supplier or subcontractor quotations

• Applicable markup requirements

• Labor rates and company pricing policies

• Required submission format

• Change-order deadline

• Documentation of schedule or productivity impacts, if applicable

Verbal instructions should be documented in writing before they are relied upon for pricing.

What Is Not Automatically Included

Unless specifically included in the proposal, change-order estimating does not automatically include:

• Determining legal entitlement to payment

• Contract interpretation or legal advice

• Delay or disruption claims

• Lost-productivity calculations

• Schedule-impact analysis

• Field verification

• Negotiating with the owner or general contractor

• Certification that the change will be approved

• Collecting payment

• Reconstructing the entire original estimate

• Pricing undocumented work

• Unlimited revisions or negotiations

Price Changed Work Before Moving Forward

Send the original documents, revised information, description of the change, supporting quotations, and submission deadline. You will receive a written proposal defining what will be reviewed and what the change-order deliverable will include.
